Scholars International Academy stands in Muwaileh in Sharjah and follows the National Curriculum for England from the early years to year 13. The school calls itself one of only two schools in Sharjah accredited by British Schools Overseas - the inspection scheme of the education department of England and Wales - a member of British Schools of the Middle East and, since 2021, the first High Performance Learning school in Sharjah. It presents its location as an argument: it serves not only Sharjah but Dubai and Ajman too, and runs bus routes into both emirates. The leaving stage is a double one: a sixth form with GCE examinations and BTEC vocational qualifications, and the school says its learners have been among the highest achievers in the UAE in IGCSE and GCE. Beyond lessons it has a sports academy of its own, a student wellbeing service, a learner council, house competitions and overseas trips, as well as a "siblings club" for families with several children.

About the fees The annual fee rises by year group: pre-kindergarten and FS 1 - 23,500 dirhams, KG 1 and FS 2 - 23,500, KG 2 and year 1 25,970, year 2 26,970, year 3 27,970, year 4 28,700, year 5 30,200, year 6 31,200, years 7-8 31,775, years 9-10 34,338 and years 11-13 35,875. It is paid in three instalments - a four-month first term and three-month second and third terms. On top of the fee: a registration charge of 525 dirhams at every year group and a resource fee from 1,500 dirhams in the early years to 3,700 and above in the senior years. Transport is charged by area: Sharjah-Muweilah 5,500 dirhams a year, the rest of Sharjah 6,000, Ajman 6,100, Ghusais and Mirdif 6,000, Mamzar 6,300, Oud Metha 6,500 and Arabian Ranches, Silicon Oasis and International City 8,200. Uniform is charged separately and itemised garment by garment. Discounts: 10 per cent for each younger child in a family, and for a referral 10 per cent to the referring family and 5 per cent to the referred one for one academic year. The school charges a late fee on any term payment more than thirty days overdue from the start of school.
Stages and year groups Grades Foundation Stage 1 - year 13, ages 3 to 18. The stages run straight through on the English system: pre-kindergarten and FS 1, KG 1 and FS 2, then years 1 to 11 and a sixth form - years 12 and 13. Fees are published for every year group. At the leaving stage the school runs GCE examinations and BTEC vocational qualifications.

A British vocational qualification from Pearson: not an academic course with an exam at the end, but a programme of practical assignments in a particular trade, from engineering and business to art and sport.
What this means for this school. Teaching and assessment work differently from A-level: instead of written exams there is a run of practical assignments marked by the school, while Pearson checks the school itself and samples the work. British universities do accept BTEC, but not all of them and not for every course: level 3 carries the same UCAS points as A-level, and that is what a family aiming at a particular university should look at. For a child who needs the classic academic route, BTEC is not a replacement for A-level but a different path.

At IGCSE the figures were 25 per cent A* to A, 64 per cent A* to C and 88 per cent A* to E. The school separately names a first place in the world in AS Level Psychology and a first place in the UAE in IGCSE Co-ordinated Sciences.
