A full-day international school in the Bağcılar district on the European side of Istanbul. The Awael institution grew from a single classroom and has been working for more than thirty years; the Istanbul school came later, when Awael moved beyond its home country. The school offers two curricula: a bilingual Lebanese one and the British Edexcel curriculum from Pearson, and it is itself an accredited Pearson Edexcel examination centre. The site is kept in English and Arabic. In summer the school runs a club of its own.

About the fees The school does not state its fees on the site: there is no charges page in the menu and the enrolment section leads to an application form. The school says only that early registration benefits apply for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Admissions Enrolment for the 2026-2027 academic year is open and families apply through the form on the site. The admissions team receives families on weekdays from ten in the morning until five in the afternoon, and the school promises benefits to those who register early. No entrance examination, age condition or deadline is named.
Stages and year groups The school holds four stages: kindergarten, primary school, middle school and high school. Two curricula are on offer. The Lebanese one is bilingual, with sciences taught in English and humanities in Arabic. The British one follows Edexcel plans from Pearson. Which British qualifications the school awards, and in which grades, is not stated, nor is the age from which kindergarten takes children.

Accreditations and programmes verified against official registries

Pearson · authorised programme
The school is listed in the Pearson Edexcel registry, and its own site confirms this in its own words: it says it follows the British Edexcel curriculum from Pearson and that it is an accredited Pearson Edexcel examination centre authorised to offer British international qualifications. The centre number under which the registry entry is filed appears nowhere on the site. No other accreditation is claimed.

What stands behind each entry

PearsonPearson Edexcel, a British exam board

It gives a school approved centre status: that means Pearson exams can be sat in the school itself. What is checked is the premises, the equipment, the secure storage of papers and the presence of trained invigilators.

What the badge means for this school. The school can run Pearson exams on its own premises. The status says nothing about teaching, about results or about the school itself: any school able to run an exam securely holds it. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. Which Pearson qualifications this school is approved for is not stated here.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
