Kültür2000 Koleji is the Büyükçekmece site of İstanbul Kültür Eğitim Kurumları, in the Karaağaç quarter. The Akıngüç family has worked in education since 1932, when Halil Akıngüç founded Kültür Dersevi in Eskişehir, the first private preparatory school in Turkey; his son Fahamettin Akıngüç, a graduate of Istanbul Technical University, founded Kültür Koleji in 1960. The same group of institutions today holds Kültür Koleji in Ataköy, Kültür2000 Koleji in Büyükçekmece and Istanbul Kültür University. Five separately named institutions stand on the Kültür2000 site, from kindergarten to the science high school, and beyond the national curriculum the school names the IB programmes and international projects in its kindergarten.
