Ozel Ege Lisesi is a private day school in Bornova, inside Izmir. It was founded in 1987 as Ozel Anayurt Lisesi and took its present name the following year. The owner is the joint-stock company Izmir Egitim Saglik Sanayi Yatirim, and the school states separately that it has no direct or indirect tie to any foundation or civil-society organisation, Turkish or foreign. It is a K-12 institution - kindergarten, primary school, middle school and high school - with a building of its own for each stage on a shared campus. The school calls itself a school of science and leadership and gives as its mission the raising of trustworthy future leaders attached to national values. From grade 10 students are grouped by language level and prepared for IELTS and TOEFL iBT, and the school describes Advanced Placement as the way to take core science subjects at university level in a foreign language. Students travel to the Harvard, Yale and Princeton Model United Nations, to the Yale Model Government of Europe and to Regeneron ISEF; the school runs its own science research project competition and the Eraslan Foundation inter-school debating tournament. The second foreign language is German or French, from grade 9 and in level groups.

Advanced Placement: American advanced courses for the senior years. The exam for a course is set and marked by the College Board, not by the school. A good result is counted by American universities as a first-year course already passed, which saves a student time and money.

Campus: The campus is built of eight blocks on 25,425 square metres planted with olive trees; about 20 per cent of the area goes to classrooms and the other 80 per cent to academic, social, sporting, artistic and cultural space plus catering, transport, offices and meeting rooms. Each stage studies in a separate building. The school calls itself disability-friendly and offers a 360-degree virtual tour of the campus.
