Colegio Obradoiro is a private school in A Coruña whose educational project, in its own words, took shape in 1977, and whose experience with IB programmes runs to more than 39 years: it was the fourth authorised IB school in Spain and in 2026 hosted Galicia's first IB Association Day. The main thing that sets it apart from its neighbours: it is the only school in A Coruña that runs all three IB programmes in sequence, from three to eighteen. There is a great deal of English and the school gives exact shares: 92 per cent of the official school day in the infant years, 68 per cent in primary, and 40 to 60 per cent of subjects in secondary. The grounds are large - 33000 square metres - and hold an indoor heated pool and a natural-grass football pitch. Sport and culture are written into the school day rather than only after lessons, and alongside the ordinary school runs a professional-grade music conservatoire with official classes on seventeen instruments - from electric guitar and percussion to piano, violin and clarinet - also inside the school day. Swimming is offered from age three, and on the sports side there are athletics, hockey, synchronised swimming, judo, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics and badminton, while on the cultural side there are up to twelve activities including jazz dance, classical ballet, drama, choir, ceramics, orchestra and big band. Among its services the school has a full-time nurse of its own, a guidance department and a school bus; support and reinforcement lessons from year 3 of primary are included in the tuition fee. The school publishes its fees itself, monthly: from 815 euros in infant to 1153 euros on the IB Diploma Programme.

About the fees The school publishes its fees itself, as a tariff table for the 2025-2026 school year, and states them monthly, over ten months: infant 815 euros, primary 906, the first two years of ESO 939, the third and fourth 974, baccalaureate 1007, IB baccalaureate 1153 euros a month. On top of this an annual registration fee (matrícula) is paid - from 622 euros in infant to 870 in the upper ESO years and baccalaureate; the school includes guidance services, materials, a device, insurance and cultural outings in it. Support lessons from year 3 of primary are included in the tuition fee.
Admissions The school sets out admission in three steps: contact by phone or through the form on the site, a visit to the school by appointment, and reservation of the place with formal registration. An enrolment fee is paid on first entry. The school names no entrance test, no English requirement and no separate procedure for children from abroad or from other education systems on its admissions page.
Stages and year groups Grades infant from age 3 - baccalaureate, up to 18. The stages run right through: the school writes that it runs "el continuo de los tres programas del IB (3-18 años)" - the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma - and keeps the national baccalaureate alongside the IB Diploma. English is set out by stage: 92 per cent of the official day in the infant years, 68 per cent in primary, 40 to 60 per cent of subjects in secondary. The school bus runs at 9:00, 17:00 and 18:00, so the day does not end with lessons.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: PYP (ages 3-12), MYP (ages 11-16), DP (ages 16-19). PYP is the primary stage, ages 3 to 12. It is not a set of subjects but a frame for the whole school: learning is built around lines of inquiry, and there are no exams at the end. MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

The school publishes nothing about where its leavers go: no share going on to university, no exam results, no list of universities.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
