Colegio San Cayetano is a private Catholic school in Palma de Mallorca run by the Theatine order (Orden de Clérigos Regulares Teatinos). The school dates its beginning to 1962, while the director in his letter recalls the first school year of 1963 with one teacher and one pupil; it now describes itself as a school with more than 60 years of history. The ladder is complete, from one to eighteen: Escoleta for children of one and two, infant school, primary school, ESO and then a choice between the national bachillerato in two tracks and the IB Diploma Programme, which the school has taught since 2021 bilingually, in Spanish and English. Spanish, Catalan and English are subjects at every stage, German from the fifth grade, French and Chinese as extracurricular activities; in bachillerato some subjects are taught in English with preparation for C1 and C2. The school publishes its results in detail: in May 2026, 97 percent obtained the IB diploma against 83 worldwide with an average score of 32.10, and in the national PAU examination a pupil of the school scored in 2019 the first perfect 10.0 in the history of the Balearic Islands. The grounds cover 80000 square metres with gardens, vegetable plots, ponds, swimming pools, a basketball pavilion, a football field and running tracks. There are more than forty extracurricular activities, and in summer there is an English-language Summer School. The newspaper El Mundo named the school the best in the Balearic Islands in its annual ranking.

Admissions Admission for the 2026-2027 school year is open at all stages, subject to places; first the family asks the office about places. Then come three steps. The first is a personal interview at the school: for the infant and primary school with the deputy head, who shows the school, for ESO and bachillerato with the deputy head for those stages, for the IB programme with its coordinator, if possible together with the pupil and under a separate IB admission policy; the interview takes place only if there is a place and is not needed if a brother or sister already attends the school. From the fifth grade upwards the family brings the marks for the last three years to the interview. The second is a request for the forms. The third is enrolment in person: forms signed by both parents, the documents of the pupil and the parents - the Spanish DNI or the foreigner's identity number NIE, and with an NIE also a passport - the family book or a birth certificate, the marks and bank details, all as originals, and payment of the first part of the enrolment fee. In the Escoleta there are very few places for children who do not yet walk. The school accepts foreigners: in its list of enrolment documents it expressly provides for the foreigner's identity number with a passport, and among its extracurricular activities it teaches Spanish for foreigners.
Stages and year groups Grades Escoleta from age 1 - 2nd year of bachillerato or the IB diploma, to age 18. The Escoleta is open from 7:45 to 17:45; bachillerato runs from 8:00 to 14:00 and on one or two days a week also from 15:00 to 17:00. The school does not state class sizes.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.
Register to check for yourself, and the full guide →National programme
The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.
What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
