Colegio Valdefuentes is a co-educational Catholic school in Sanchinarro, Madrid, opened in the 2006-2007 school year by the Educare group, which now has eight schools; legally it is run by Educare Inversión en Centros Educativos, S.L. The school is private, but most of its stages are state-funded (concertado): from the second cycle of kindergarten to ESO tuition is free, while the first-cycle nursery from age one and the bachillerato are fee-paying. Stages run from one to eighteen, and at the top the school is authorised for the IB Diploma Programme, which it runs alongside the national bachillerato and the American dual diploma. Teaching is bilingual, Spanish and English, with Jolly Phonics for the youngest and the Aptis project, and in addition the school teaches French and German; it is a preparation centre for Cambridge English examinations and in 2026 received the quality seal of the Bilingual Education Association. In the PAU university examination of 2026, according to the school, 95% of pupils passed, with an average entrance mark of 7.66 and a best result of 13.73; in 2026 Forbes magazine included the school among the hundred best schools in Spain. The campus is large: a 14000 m² site, 89 classrooms, a heated swimming pool, an indoor sports centre, laboratories and a chapel. After lessons there are more than three dozen paid activities, from basketball and judo to robotics, public speaking and theatre in English, and in summer a day camp and a residential camp in English at another school of the group.

Admissions The school has announced admissions open for the 2026-2027 school year. Because the school is state-funded, admission follows the general procedure of the Community of Madrid for such schools: applications are scored on the official points scale, ties are settled by a public draw, and the school publishes its vacancies and the admission calendar. If there are no places in the extraordinary period, the family submits a form to the SAE admissions service. For enrolment after allocation the family writes to the school and receives online enrolment forms. The school names no separate procedure for children from other countries and no requirement to know Spanish.
Stages and year groups Grades first cycle of kindergarten (age 1) - 2nd year of bachillerato. Stages by age: the first cycle of kindergarten - 1 and 2 years, the second cycle - from 3 to 6, primary school - from 6 to 12, ESO - from 12 to 16, bachillerato - from 16 to 18, and separately the Bachillerato Internacional for the same years. The school calls the first-cycle nursery and the bachillerato its private stages; the rest are state-funded. Each stage has its own head. Morning and afternoon care runs before 9:00 and after 17:00. The school does not state class sizes.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Grupo Educare is a group of schools in the Community of Madrid that traces its history to 1977, when Colegio Parque opened in La Navata (Galapagar). Today the group has 8 schools: besides Parque, these are Valdefuentes and Torrevilano in Madrid, Peñalar in Torrelodones, Peñalvento in Colmenar Viejo, Montesclaros in Cerceda, and Antamira in Paracuellos de Jarama and Antanes School in Leganés, both acquired in 2018. The group says it is made up of two companies - Comenius Participaciones SL and Swiss Life Asset Managers - and that in November 2025 Swiss Life Asset Managers became its main shareholder. The site gives different figures: 10,000 students and 720 teachers on the home page, and more than 11,000 school places and 800 staff on the history page; we quote both. The group's site is grupoeducare.es.

The psycho-pedagogical office deals with learning difficulties and problems of personality and socialisation, and there is an emotional health project. The school has published its organisation and operating rules, a coexistence plan and a digital plan. The canteen is supervised by teachers, and younger children can be collected from extracurricular activities only with the school card. The school names no security guards and no video surveillance.
Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
