Colegio San Patricio has been running in Madrid since 1958 and keeps three campuses: two for Infantil and Primaria - on Calle Serrano in the centre of the city and in La Moraleja ten minutes away - both taking children from the age of one to eleven, and a third, El Soto, where pupils arrive for secondary school and the Bachillerato. It is at El Soto that the school runs the IB Diploma alongside the Spanish national Bachillerato, and by its own warning families apply a year before the date they want: places are scarce. The school describes its education as multilingual and rooted in Catholic values, and its standing in the El Mundo and Forbes rankings as a steady result. A leaver, by its own account, comes away with four things: a solid grasp of the Spanish curriculum, exceptional English plus German or French, artistic and team work, and skill in public speaking. Some of its pupils achieve the maximum 45 points in the IB examinations - a result reached by about one per cent of candidates worldwide. The fee covers what is usually charged separately: textbooks, school materials, cultural outings, educational platforms, a nursing service and extended hours from 8:00.

About the fees The school does not publish annual amounts on its fees page: the figures are posted as three separate files by campus - Serrano, La Moraleja and El Soto - for 2026/27, together with registration fees and sibling discounts. The text gives the structure: the fee is divided into ten monthly payments from September to June, and the monthly amount covers textbooks, school materials, cultural outings, the cost of educational platforms and other school services, including the nursing service and extended hours from 8:00.
Admissions The school warns that places are much in demand and advises applying at least a year before the desired start date - particularly for the El Soto campus with the IB Diploma. Admission to all three campuses runs through separate admissions portals, and the school has the Nsouli scholarship programme and the Inspired network's scholarship programme. The procedure is: an application through the site choosing the campus and, if wished, a personal visit; then the school asks for previous school reports, and the child is invited to a personal interview and a language test; after the assessment the head of admissions makes the parents an offer and sends the documents; enrolment is completed by handing in the documents and proof of payment of the entry fee.
Stages and year groups Grades from age 1 (Infantil) - 2nd year of Bachillerato. The stages are split between campuses: Serrano and La Moraleja take children from one to eleven - Infantil and Primaria - while pupils move to the El Soto campus for secondary school and the Bachillerato, where the school runs both the national Bachillerato with the EvAU examination and the IB Diploma for pupils aged 16 to 18.

What stands behind each entry

CambridgeCambridge International Education

Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. Which stages - from the early years programme for three-year-olds up to A-Level - this school is approved for is not stated here.

IBInternational Baccalaureate

A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.

What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: MYP (ages 11-16), DP (ages 16-19). MYP is the middle stage, ages 11 to 16. There are no exams here either; at the end an optional electronic assessment of pupils' work is possible. DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

National programme

The state school programme of the country the school stands in: it is set by that country's ministry of education, which also licenses the school and awards the leaving certificate. That certificate is used for entry to local universities, and abroad it is matched to the local one.

What this means for this school. This entry does not count towards the score, and that is deliberate. Every lawful school in a country works to the national programme, so on its own it tells one school apart from no other - unlike the French, German or Russian programmes, which are carried abroad and confirmed by the register of their organisation. We show it because a parent needs to know what programme their child is taught and what certificate the child will get. Counting it would lift the whole ranking at once and still tell nobody apart.

Inspiredschool network

Inspired Education Group is a private school group founded in 2013. The group gives different figures on its own pages - 125 schools on some, "more than 100" on others - and we quote both: choosing for a group which of its own numbers is correct is not something we do. Its schools are in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and some of them keep their own historic names, such as King's College in Madrid and Riga. The group's site is inspirededu.com.

What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

"Scored on disclosed data" stands where we count only what the school has written about itself on its own site: exams and destinations, safety and wellbeing, teaching staff, facilities, clubs and activities. A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives. The full methodology →
