THP International School is a small private school in La Moraleja, on Avenida de Bruselas in Alcobendas outside Madrid, and its defining feature is group size: the school promises a maximum of eight students per teacher and up to 10 per cent of teaching time as one-to-one lessons, more than 250 hours of individual work per student across the course. There are two routes: the American system and the IB Diploma Programme, and the school builds its whole admissions process around the Diploma. It belongs to an educational group together with LMI College and the support academy TutorASAP, which has operated since 1997 and provides catch-up teaching, intensive courses and examination preparation for students from other schools. More than 25 nationalities are represented in its community. The school describes its La Moraleja campus as modern classrooms and laboratories, spaces for creativity, sports and wellbeing facilities and a safe international environment. The extracurricular side is built on outings and partnerships: students have taken part in programmes with Real Madrid, PlayStation and the MUNCYT science museum, and the school runs academic and leisure trips throughout the year, including cultural ones - to Berlin, for example. A university guidance service works with the seniors: it maintains an individual academic plan, selects a subject combination to match the student's university goal and prepares them for Spanish and foreign universities.

English
Admissions The school builds admission around the Diploma Programme and makes it deliberately non-standard: it says it does not believe in standardised education, and therefore not in standardised admission either. There are five steps: a first conversation with the family and the student about their needs, motivation and goals; an academic review looking at reports, academic history, language level and readiness for the Diploma; a personal interview about the student's profile, adaptation, interests and plans; the drawing up of an individual academic plan, that is a subject combination and a form of support matched to university goals; and finally confirmation of the place and joining the school community. The school says plainly whom it is looking for: families who want a demanding, personalised international education, learning in small groups, close academic and personal monitoring and preparation for Spanish and international universities. Places are few: the maximum of eight students per teacher is deliberate. The school does take foreign students: by its own account its community includes students of more than 25 nationalities, and the academic review looks at language level among other things. The school's admissions pages name no special requirements for foreign students - no documents, no homologation, no knowledge of Spanish.
Stages and year groups Grades the IB Diploma Programme and the American system at the pre-university stage. The school runs two systems - the American one and the IB Diploma Programme - and its whole admissions process is built around the Diploma. One-to-one lessons sit inside the timetable: up to 10 per cent of teaching time, more than 250 hours of individual work across the course. Groups are small: on /acerca-de-thp/ the school promises a maximum of 10 students per teacher, on /admisiones-2026/ a maximum of 8. The age range is not stated on the site: the enquiry form offers student ages from 14 to 18 and over.

IBInternational Baccalaureate
A Swiss non-profit, working since 1968. Its programmes are among the most widely recognised school programmes in the world. Authorisation is granted stage by stage, so a school with the final stage does not necessarily run the younger ones; which stages this school holds is set out in the line below.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it. At this school: DP (ages 16-19). DP is the final stage, ages 16 to 19: six subjects plus a compulsory core of theory of knowledge, an extended essay and CAS. The diploma is accepted by universities all over the world, and in a number of countries it counts for admission on the same footing as the local leaving certificate.

Reviews
No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 7 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
