Lycée Français International de Castilla y León is a private French school in Laguna de Duero, fifteen kilometres from Valladolid, and the oldest of the French schools in this batch: founded in 1980, it joined the Mission laïque française network in 1992. The school promises three languages from the age of two - French, Spanish and English - and its stages run from toute petite section to terminale, that is from two-year-olds up to the French baccalauréat; the French ministry's homologation covers fifteen year groups from petite section, while the youngest group, from the age of two, is not homologated. A leaver receives a dual diploma, and the school writes separately about recognition of the French, Spanish and American leaving certificates. The results it publishes are high: 100 per cent passes in the DNB and the baccalauréat, more than 75 per cent of leavers with distinction, and in Cambridge English 95 per cent of first-year lycée pupils reach C1; the school runs a Cambridge examination centre and prepares pupils for DELF, DALF, DELE and the PIX digital certification. Of its services it has its own canteen, a school bus and extracurricular activities; on the building it says only that every classroom has up-to-date equipment, and it offers a virtual tour. One more thing worth saying about its place in the region: the school's operator stresses that this is a secular school where the schools are mostly religious.

About the fees The school publishes its fees itself, as tariffs for the 2025-2026 academic year, in euros, as an annual sum and monthly in ten payments: nursery (three years of maternelle) - 5810 euros a year, or 581 a month; primary school, from CP to CM2, - 6880, or 688; collège, from 6ème to 3ème, - 7020, or 702; lycée, from 2nde to terminale, - 7110, or 711 euros. The canteen, the bus and childcare are paid separately.
Admissions The school does take foreigners and says so plainly: it calls itself a multilingual and bicultural French school welcoming pupils of all nationalities, from age two in nursery to the baccalauréat at 18. Enrolment is open, and it starts with a request for information through the form on the site: the school contacts the family, invites it to see the building and in a conversation explains its method, language certificates and the double qualification, discussing the child's needs and goals. The school names no entrance tests, French requirements or deadlines on its enrolment page. Pupils, in the school's words, can continue their studies at any French or Spanish school thanks to the official recognition of the courses.
Stages and year groups Grades toute petite section (age 2) - terminale, up to age 18. The stages run right through: toute petite section and maternelle, primary school, collège and lycée up to the French baccalauréat. Fifteen year groups are homologated, from petite section to terminale, and none of them is taught through the CNED distance system; the youngest group, from the age of two, is not homologated. The page read gives no timetable for the day: the school has a separate section for it in the families' area, and that did not open from the container.

It runs the network of French schools worldwide, while the accreditation itself, the homologation, is granted by the French education ministry and inspected by French state inspectors. A leaver from a homologated school moves into a school in France without an entrance examination. Homologation is granted stage by stage, so it sometimes covers only part of the year groups.
What the badge means for this school. The school has been through this organisation's accreditation. It was judged as a whole: governance, safeguarding, staff, premises, teaching. The entry stands in the organisation's public register - anyone can check it.

The state programme of France. A school is homologated by the French ministry of education, and a leaver may move into a school in France without entrance tests. Homologation is granted stage by stage, so it sometimes covers only part of the year groups.
What this means for this school. Which year groups of this school are covered by homologation - only the primary ones, or all the way to the final year - is not stated here. The difference matters: it decides whether the school takes a child through to the French baccalaureate or hands them on to another school halfway.
Mission laïque françaiseschool network
Mission laïque française (MLF) is a French non-profit association founded in 1902; its school network is called Réseau mlfmonde. The network gives different figures on its own pages - 108 schools in 38 countries on some, 107 schools in 37 countries on another, with more than 61,000 students in both cases - and we quote both. In Spain the network lists 10 lycées, in Alicante, Murcia, Palma, Reus, Seville, Telde (Gran Canaria), Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Valladolid, Villanueva de la Cañada (Madrid) and Zaragoza. In a notice dated 21 September 2026, MLF writes that since 1 September 2026 the day-to-day management of its Spanish schools has been entrusted to the association AFLEC-GEE under a management mandate, refers to 9 schools, and says the legal transfer of each will be completed by 31 July 2028 at the latest. The notice does not say which of the ten schools is not among the nine. The network's site is mlfmonde.org.
What this means for this school. The network owns or operates the school. Its accreditation and programme authorisation the school obtains separately, in its own name.

No reviews yet. The community rating counts towards the score once a school has five verified reviews - until then we do not show a zero, so as not to mislead.

A low score here means the school does not write about this, not that the school does not have it: a school with good security and a sparse site will score low. A school can fill in its profile, and the score will be counted again.
The score is counted from 8 of the 9 criteria.Only those with checkable data count: programmes and accreditations from official registers, the fee from a published price list. Where it says "scored on the median", the school has no data and the middle of the list is put in its place, so that a gap gives no advantage. Admissions, teaching staff and reviews come in as their data arrives.
