The school opened in September 2025 in a historic industrial building in the Alcântara district in the centre of Lisbon. It is built for children aged 3 to 18 but teaches up to age 14 for now, adding one year group annually until the full secondary programme is complete in 2028. The programme brings together the British curriculum and the IB Diploma: Early Years, Primary School, Lower Secondary School, Cambridge IGCSE and then the IB Diploma Programme. Lessons are in English - the school answers plainly that English is the language of instruction and all subjects are taught in English - while all students study Portuguese, and French is added from Year 6. Nursery and Reception hold no more than 20 students, Year 1 and above no more than 22, and the school commits to a student-to-teacher ratio of no more than 1:8. Admissions The school says its students learn alongside peers from around the world, and addresses families in these words: wherever you are from, you are welcome at The Lisboan. The admissions process is straightforward: an application is accompanied by the child's most recent school or pre-school report, after which the academic team reviews it and may request an assessment if necessary; there are no entrance exams as such. Placement is by date of birth, and the school publishes the table: Nursery takes children from age 3, Reception from age 4, one year per year group thereafter, and Year 13 falls at ages 17-18 by 2028. The application fee is 250 euros and is non-refundable.

Campus: The school occupies a historic industrial building in the Alcântara district in the centre of Lisbon, converted for learning while keeping its former architecture. Inside are bright classrooms, specialist science laboratories, design and technology spaces, computer science and digital learning facilities, art studios, music teaching and performance spaces, a dedicated Early Years environment, collaborative learning areas and quiet spaces for independent study. The campus is designed to be carbon-neutral: solar generation, energy-efficient systems, natural light, passive cooling and shading. It has no sports fields of its own - physical education runs indoors and outdoors, and the school uses sports facilities in the local community together with Lisbon's parks and waterfront.
