A private school of the Ankara University Development Foundation, standing as a single campus on the Incek road in Ahlatlibel. Preparation for its opening began in the mid-1990s: the university's rector, Gunal Akbay, formed an executive committee and charged it with preparing the creation of a modern primary and secondary institution with the university's academic support. The campus now houses an early years stage, a primary school, a middle school, an Anatolian high school and a science high school. The school states its aim in these terms: to create conditions in which students can express themselves, and to raise people of free will, able to think critically, able to communicate well, democratic, questioning, using at least one foreign language effectively and equal to the demands of the twenty-first century. The school has earned the Turkish zero waste certificate and describes itself as the first school to measure its carbon footprint. Its standing events include the ACMUN model United Nations, a science and language festival, a student history conference, career days and a job-shadowing programme, as well as a science camp and a Pi Day.
