The school has moved and renamed itself, and that has to be known before anything else: the former name GEMS New Millennium School - Al Khail appears nowhere on its site today, the old domain leads away from every address to the new one, and in its heading, in its logo and in its mandatory CBSE disclosure it calls itself GEMS New Millennium School - Dubai Hills. The words Al Khail survive only in the street address, Al Khail Road, and in its own social media accounts, which the school chose not to rename. Teaching here follows an enriched CBSE programme with the all-India leaving examination, and after grade 8 a second route opens - the English IGCSE continuing on to A-level - so one and the same school graduates pupils both by the Indian system and by the English one. There are many languages: Arabic runs at levels set by ability and years of study, and as a second language a child takes French, Hindi or Malayalam. The stages run from Pre-KG for three-year-olds to grade 12. There are 154 teachers, and the ratio the school states itself - thirty pupils to a teacher; by its CBSE disclosure it has 121 classrooms, eight laboratories and a site of more than eleven hectares. Examination results the school shows bare and complete: in 2024 grade 10 was sat by 91 pupils and all of them passed, grade 12 by 108 and all of them passed too. Rooms are many: biology, physics and chemistry laboratories, a mathematics laboratory and a workshop, a room of Macs, robotics, a hall of five hundred seats, drama, dance, music and recording studios, a swimming pool, a football pitch, cricket areas, tennis and basketball courts, a sports hall and a rooftop play area. The extended day here is called PACT, runs three days a week from half past one to half past three for grades 1 to 8 and costs nothing: it holds around two dozen activities, from swimming and karate to robotics and financial literacy, and the school says 95 per cent of its pupils use it. Leavers go on to universities in India, the UAE, Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia, and the school lists them by name. What is not on the site: a founding year, a total number of pupils and a summer camp.

About the fees The annual fee for the 2026-2027 school year: Pre-KG, KG1, KG2 and Grades I-II - 23,143 dirhams, Grades III-IV - 25,458, Grades V-VIII - 31,244, Grades IX-X on CBSE - 32,401, Grades XI-XII - 33,557. The English route has lines of its own: Years 10-11 - 32,400, Year 12 - 33,557, Year 13 - 32,580. Payment can be by year, by term or monthly, but always in advance, before lessons begin.
Admissions The school takes children from Pre-KG to grade 12 and holds an age cut-off of 31 March: for Pre-KG a child must be three, for KG1 four, for KG2 five, for the first grade six. From KG1 to the first grade the child comes together with the parents for a conversation, and a test on enrolment may or may not be set - the school leaves that to its own discretion. From the second grade upwards the decision is made on the report card of the last year completed and on previous school records. Of papers it asks for a birth certificate and a passport, an Emirates ID, report cards and transcripts from the previous school in English, a transfer certificate with the required attestations, a medical fitness certificate for KG1 and educational psychologist reports if any exist. Special educational needs and individual education plans the school requires to be disclosed in full before enrolment, and it calls itself inclusive and promises to consider applications fairly. Brothers and sisters of current pupils are given preference. The principal reserves the right to refuse on a child's character, behaviour or attainment.
Stages and year groups Grades Pre-KG - grade 12 (the English route to Year 13). There are three stages: a kindergarten of Pre-KG, KG1 and KG2 for three to five-year-olds on an early years programme, a primary and middle school from the first grade to the eighth on the enriched CBSE programme, and a senior stage from the ninth grade, where the path forks - CBSE from the ninth grade to the twelfth, or IGCSE from the tenth grade to the eleventh and A-level in Years 12-13. Optional subjects on the CBSE route open from the eleventh grade. There are 121 classrooms, and that figure the school states itself in its CBSE disclosure; class size it does not publish, but the ratio of pupils to a teacher it does state - thirty to one.

CambridgeCambridge International Education
Part of the University of Cambridge. It allows a school to teach the Cambridge programmes and to enter pupils for the exams. There are four stages and they are authorised separately: primary, lower secondary, IGCSE and A Level. If the stages are known they are named in the line below; if that line is missing, the school does not publish them, and the Cambridge registry does not show stages either - it gives only the name of the centre, the country and whether private candidates are accepted. Cambridge calls what it does registration rather than accreditation, and the network holds about ten thousand schools.
What the badge means for this school. The school is allowed to run this programme and to award its certificate. This is a confirmation of the programme, not a judgement on the school as a whole. The Indian school programme. Its most widespread board is CBSE, the Central Board of Secondary Education: it sets the content, runs the common leaving examinations after Class 10 and Class 12, and awards the certificate. Schools outside India work to it as the board's overseas affiliates.
What this means for this school. The examinations after Class 10 and Class 12 are common and external - the board runs them, not the school - which sets this programme apart from the American one, where the school itself sets the content of the senior years. GEMS Education is a private school group that describes itself on its own site as one of the oldest and largest K-12 (to Grade 12 / Year 13) private education providers in the world. The site dates its start to 1959 («Our story began in 1959«, «65+ Years of Legacy«), while another page on the same site says «over 60 Years of Legacy«. School counts on the site disagree: the homepage says both «52 schools across the UAE, Qatar and Egypt« and «Choose from our list of over 47 schools«, while the Our Company page says GEMS has schools «in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Europe and North America«. Students: «200,000 students from over 176 countries« (Our Company) and «over 200,000« (homepage). On ownership the site is explicit: «GEMS Education own, operate and manage schools globally« — it both owns and manages, but does not say which schools fall into which category.

Exam results For 2024 the school prints full figures for both CBSE leaving examinations: in the tenth grade 91 pupils registered and all 91 passed; in the twelfth 108 registered and all 108 passed, that is, one hundred per cent in both cases. Average scores, a grade distribution and results of the English route - IGCSE and A-level - the school does not give; a three-year summary of results it posts as a separate link in its mandatory CBSE disclosure section. The school calls itself a registered centre for the SAT and IELTS examinations but publishes no scores of its own for them.

Campus: The site the school names as a figure in its CBSE disclosure - 111,483.65 square metres - and on it there are 121 classrooms and eight laboratories. By name it lists biology, physics and chemistry laboratories, a mathematics laboratory, a science workshop, a computing room with Macs, a robotics laboratory and separate language rooms. For the arts there is a black box drama room, dance studios, a music technology room, a recording studio, an art and craft workshop and a hall of five hundred seats. There is a library on the campus and a separate electronic one. From the sporting side: a swimming pool, a football pitch, cricket areas, tennis and basketball courts, a multi-purpose court, a multi-purpose sports hall, shaded play areas and a rooftop area. There is a dining hall and a separate page about catering, indoor and outdoor free play areas for the kindergarten, a school bus with a page of its own and a medical service. There are 154 teachers, and the school breaks them down by the grades of the CBSE programme itself: 30 post graduate teachers (PGT), 36 trained graduate teachers (TGT) and 87 primary teachers (PRT). The ratio of pupils to a teacher it states plainly - thirty to one. On the staff there are two special educators and a wellbeing counsellor, all three named; the principal is Fatima Martin, with a B.Ed and an MBA. Child protection the school describes in detail and by the law of the UAE: it works under Wadeema's Law on the rights of the child, in force since June 2016, and requires its staff to report physical, emotional and sexual abuse, neglect, grooming, exploitation and human trafficking. There is a person responsible for child protection, who acts in the pupil's interest and carries the reporting duties set by law, and there is a safeguarding team, to which, under the whistleblowing policy, a member of staff must report any concern about a colleague. Hiring follows safer recruitment rules: a police check on every member of staff, two references, one of them from the previous post, and separate safer recruitment training for those who hire. All staff take level one child protection training. Beside safeguarding the school keeps pages on inclusion, careers guidance and medical help.
