Seixal International School has worked since 2001 in Fernão Ferro outside Seixal, and began when two sisters, mothers and educators, wanted a different school - one where every child is known by face. It teaches from 3 to 11: kindergarten and primary school to Stage 6, 7 mixed-age groups in all, 2 in kindergarten and 5 in the primary school, with places for up to 140 children. Teaching is bilingual, Portuguese and English: Portuguese language, sciences, mathematics and the history and geography of Portugal run in Portuguese, English is taught by its own teacher, and the school calls its character bilingual and international - which is where the conclusion about the language of lessons comes from. The school is certified as a Cambridge International School for Cambridge Early Years and Cambridge Primary and runs the Portuguese curriculum alongside them. Lessons are taught by 8 educators with 12 other staff supporting them, and the school promises small classes. The premises are about 1000 square metres: classrooms with learning corners, a playground for the youngest, a sports field, a garden, a multisensory room, a therapy room, a kitchen and a cafeteria; the school is currently expanding. About the fees Annual tuition is 3645.36 euros in kindergarten, 3935.76 euros for Stage 1-5 and 4175.76 euros for Stage 6. It can be paid in 12 monthly instalments - 303.78 euros, 327.98 euros and 347.98 euros respectively. Paying for the whole year at once earns a 5 percent discount, paying in two instalments 2 percent, and younger siblings 10 percent, but only on the 12-instalment plan. The amounts are given for the 2025/26 school year.
Admissions The school takes children from 3 into kindergarten and from 6 into the primary stages, and opens pre-registration on its site. It calls its families families of multiple nationalities and cultures, and describes itself as a school for everyone, bilingual and international in character. It sets no conditions of citizenship, residence or knowledge of Portuguese; registration costs 350 euros, and renewal for the following year 200 euros. Separately the school runs a Parental Academy and support for home education.
